We’re new to the neighborhood, so we decided to do some exploring in Downtown Naperville and the surrounding areas. From fantastic restaurants to bridal boutiques, here are four local businesses you should add to your Naperville bucket list!
Gia Mia
Gia Mia is a fine Italian restaurant focused on ‘farm-to-fork’ cuisine. It’s known for its Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas, small plates, fresh pasta dishes, antipasto, and more. We had the opportunity to visit for lunch recently and absolutely loved the Prosciutto + Fig Bruschetta. The atmosphere is unmatched at Gia Mia. The building dates back to the 1800s and features beautiful exposed brick walls amongst other rustic features. We’re so excited to have Gia Mia as our next-door neighbor in Downtown Naperville!
Sweet Home Gelato
Sweet Home Gelato is a family-owned and operated company with four locations: Highland Park, Libertyville, Chicago (Riverwalk), and Naperville. The Naperville location is in the Main Street Promenade on Van Buren. Sweet Home Gelato makes all of its batches fresh to ensure it is extremely fresh when you order! The hand-crafted gelato is also made with all-natural ingredients. Flavors range from classic vanilla to pina colada, and many more. You can order it however you like, from a plain scoop in a waffle cone to an affogato (gelato over espresso!), the possibilities are endless! We absolutely loved visiting here, and will definitely be back soon.
Tapville Social
Tapville Social offers a one-of-a-kind experience for its guests. The self-pour tap wall offers an extensive list of beers, from fruited sours to IPAs, stout beers, and more. Tapville has flights and single-serving options for all beer on tap as well as craft cocktails. The establishment also offers classic American cuisine using unique ingredients in every dish. Tapville Social has quickly become a regular favorite for us at James & Sons! The restaurant & bar is located at 216 S. Washington Street, just down the road from us in Downtown Naperville. We loved the unique and inviting atmosphere at Tapville and can’t wait to head back soon!

If you’re in the market for a wedding dress, the Wedding Design Studio is an essential place to visit. The shop is just outside of Downtown Naperville, and it has hundreds of stunning dresses for you to try on. From designers like Pronovias, Willowby by Waters, Da Vinci, and more, we’re sure you’ll find the dress of your dreams. The Design Studio also has a wide collection of veils available in the studio in addition to custom ordering your veil! The studio also offers in-house, full custom alterations, as well as plenty of other wedding services.
