Our Story
In 1964, James F. Sunderland Sr. opened the doors to the original James & Sons Fine Jewelers in Calumet City, IL. Since those humble beginnings, three generations of the Sunderland family have been the trusted jeweler for Chicagoland. By offering the very best price, quality and selection, the James & Sons Family is committed to make every customer have a 5 Star experience. Our History
1980's - Second Generation
James & Sons becomes a second-generation jeweler when Jim Jr., Anne & Ford Sunderland join their father in business
1986 - Oak Lawn
James & Sons second location
opens in Oak Lawn
1991 - Olympia Fields
John Sunderland joins the team & opens a third location with Anne Sunderland
1998 - Orland Park
James & Sons opens in Orland Park and
it quickly becomes the flagship location
2003 - Chicago
James & Sons branches out beyond the South Suburbs and opens its first Chicago location in the Lincoln Park neighborhood
2004 - Schererville
After 38 years, the original Calumet
City location closes and James & Sons opens in Schererville, Indiana
2010 - 2020's -
Third Generation
James & Sons becomes a third generation jeweler as Jimmy Sunderland (Jim's son) and Katie Sunderland (John's daughter) join the team
2021 - Naperville
James & Sons opens in downtown
Naperville after years of searching for
the perfect fourth location
2023 - Orland Park
Having served Orland Park for 25 years at our original location, we are thrilled to commit many more decades of service at this new flagship location
